Briefly describe your testimony of coming to Christ…

I grew up in a Christian home but never had a relationship with God. I had a great relationship with the Bible and knew great information about the Lord, but never actually encountered or knew Him until my teen years. At around the age of 16, I had a supernatural experience with the Lord and heard Him speak to me about moving from only head knowledge to actual heart connection and true relationship with Him. From that moment on, I have been on a journey of coming to Christ everyday and submitting my mind, heart, and whole life to His love, grace, mercy, and Lordship.

Briefly describe your understanding of God’s calling on your life…

As a beloved son of the Most High King, I believe I am called to be loved by God and to love God, others, and myself in intimate relationship with the Lord, family relationships with God’s people, and intentional activity that awakens the world to the love of Christ. Primarily, my role is in loving and supporting my wife as she pursues a PhD in Clinical Psychology as her vocational calling. Secondly, as an expression of my identity as God’s beloved, I sense the Lord’s direction to craft creative content through writing, speaking, and worship arts that opens space for the Church and all people to encounter God’s presence, grow in relational connection with the Lord, receive holistic healing, and be equipped and empowered to live out the calling God is placing on their lives.

How did you come to the Free Methodist Church?

During the summer of 2008 I was an intern at a house of prayer in Rancho Cucamonga called Refuge. While at Refuge, I was a part of a large group of young adults looking for mentorship and pastoring. The board of the house of prayer recommended we attend Cucamonga Christian Fellowship (CCF) as they could offer spiritual parenting, pastoral ministry, and mentorship for many of us. During that summer I attended CCF and plugged into many areas of ministry, eventually becoming a member and ministry partner. Upon completing my undergraduate studies I returned to CCF to join the staff and felt welcomed home both in the local church and the Free Methodist Church. As I have journeyed from LMC to CMC and now to Elder, it has been a wonderful process of understanding how the Free Methodist Church has always been my home, speaks the language of my heart, and that it is truly good to belong within this ministry and family.
